MUIHC is proud to announce that our Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls event at the Western Montana Fair Grounds on August 10th was a great success! Thank you so much to all of the families impacted by the MMIWG crisis, the representatives of Senator Tester’s office, Arlene Adams and Myrna Dumontier, the Western Montana Fair, the community supporters, event sponsors, and amazing riders who carried the Montana tribal flags into the arena.

This event included an honoring drum song, a color guard of flags from all Montana tribes, and a procession of families impacted by the crisis.

Historically, red is the color associated with MMIWG awareness. We encouraged rodeo-goers to show their support for MMIWG families and survivors by purchasing an Indian Taco at the MUIHC booth and a Rock Your Rodeo Red t-shirt at the MUIHC informational booth. All proceeds will go towards MMIWG families and community advocacy.

Thank you to Alex Hallet at Sattva Photos for the stunning pictures of our event. You can view his full MMIWG Fair Event album at
