MUIHC was awarded a federal grant totaling $1.15 million for services to American Indians living in Missoula County, Montana. The Missoula Native Connections grant is housed under our Behavioral Health Department and is run by Ann Douglas, PhD.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)-funded Missoula Native Connections is a 5-year project aimed at increasing the support and delivery of culturally-tailored suicide and substance abuse prevention services to American Indian youth ages 15 to 24. MUIHC will work in partnership with the University of Montana and Missoula County Public Schools to develop a referral system and service delivery network aimed at reducing youth suicide and substance abuse.
